The First Time

a poem by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Montik, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

It was the first time that I met you,
the first time that you said your name,
my heart was racing against time,
and I knew my life would never be the same.

The first time that you looked into my eyes,
and smiled ever so sweetly,
I lost all control and
you took over my heart completely.

That first time when I heard you laugh,
it splashed over me like a refreshing wave,
and it became another amazing memory,
to put inside my heart to save.

My heart melted that first time,
when I heard you gently say,
you’re so perfect baby,
I think about you night and day.

The first time that you held me,
I had felt protected,
and I didn’t want you to let go,
because for once I felt accepted.

It was that first time,
when I felt your lips on mine,
and I knew that no matter what,
everything would turn out fine.

And that first time when you left,
and we had to be apart,
I missed you so much but I knew,
you would always be inside my heart.
