a poem by Lee Emmett, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

what is this game called soccer
it's nothing like Aussie rules
players only use head and feet
if handle ball, treated like fools

only goalie can defend with hands
using gloves and body padded up
no touching, grabbing, man-handling
game's tamer than lap-poodle or pup
