Time And Tide Waits For No Man

a poem by Rajaram Ramachandran, India - poetry writer, author, poet

Around the Sun, the Earth that revolves
Keeps an ACCOUNT of the Seasons,
By Summer, Monsoon, Spring and Winter, yes,
To keep a man weatherproof always.

The Time, as it moves fast,
Keeps the year’s ACCOUNT
By Second, minute, hour, day and night
To help a man count his age right.

The clock, that ticks-ticks on,
Keeps an ACCOUNT of a man,
His heart ‘dub-dubs’ 72 beats per minute,
To show how his life is running fast.

Why not man follow these examples,
And maintain an ACCOUNT of his works,
By a schedule of duties to perform,
Every day, keeping up to the time?

Every time-conscious-man will sure,
Reach the height of success in his career,
If “Make hay while the Sun shines-Time
And tide waits for no man,” is his life-theme.

Never A Drug-addict Be
A Bouquet of Oriental Poems
Mom or Son, Who is guilty?
