TRAFFIC LIGHTS

a poem by Nancy Ellen Crossland, USA

We begin our lives with a green light
Full speed ahead we go

And as we grow and face each challenge
It's time to take it slow

Decisions thought out thoroughly
Cautiously we move
No turning back
We're up in front
The road may not be smooth

And then those roadblocks
Dead stops
Time to evaluate
Which way to go
Which road is ours to take

So on we go
Adventure ahead
With maps to guide our way
Our own traffic lights
Time to brave the day
