a poem by Michael Flores Caasi, Philippines - poetry writer, author, poet

Amidst this overcast and barren territory,
My soul wandered looking for the answers
To my querries of doubts and my countless confusions.
I thought of death's presence approaching me
And tearing my weary life apart.

I endeavored hardly to rest my essence
To find a not-so-ghastly world
Where silence and bliss may welcome me.
I imagined so sweetly of my soul to dwell
In this place of peace and serenity.

My stay is counted with this bitter end
Of an unfriendly life I had
Now is the moment I've been waiting for
Of this sweetest sorrow of adieu
I've conquered and have survived...
but now to bid goodbye.
