Self Talk

a poem by Michael Flores Caasi, Philippines - poetry writer, author, poet

In front of the mirror
I started to talk
staring at a certain point
of my enemy, my reflection.

"Why are you scared to reveal your feelings?
What made you decide for a new beginning?
Aren't you worried about that sad ending
Even haven't fixed the wrong thing?"

"Be man, be sincere
Cast all your worries and your fears
Face the world with courage
Act according to your perfect age".

"Stand up and raise your voice.
Hear your heart, not the noise
In this mirror, do keep my words,
be a man in your troubled world".

"You are old enough to know,
For a better change, move on and GROW".
