a poem by Drsudarsan Damodar Prasad, India - poetry writer, author, poet

The path has been-
Always steep;
Now it has become slippery too!
I get the nascent fragrance-
Of a fresh flower bloom,
Somewhere in hiding.
Alas! I see only the jungle,
And not the flower!

The path was never meant -
For the fainthearted,
Or for the wayfarer,
Impatient as the,
Silvery fish-left gasping-
For breath,
On the hot and fiery-
Sands of time.

Yet, one day I must,
Gather my wits,
Hold my breath,
Take the path,
And ascent in real earnest!
