Work for Nuclear Disarmament

a poem by Elizabeth Padillo Olesen, Denmark

Work for Nuclear Disarmament

Why this warfare on the air
the land and the sea?
Why should people die
at the hand of the devil?

There is much anguish on land
much blood splashed around
leaving skeletons and charred bodies.

Peace, peace, peace
We cry for peace
Why do we have to fight?
What are we to protect
and kill in order to protect?

Peace, peace, peace
We do cry for peace
enough of this warfare
this anguish and blood waste.
Work for peace to dwell.

Nuclear Testing
Hunger, Poverty and Lopsided Development
SQUATTERS (Slum-Dwellers)
