SUMMERS IN LAKE TAHOE

a poem by Nancy Ellen Crossland, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

The lake so clear, smooth as turquoise silk
Glistening tiny sunlight reflections
Sparkling invitingly
What mastery of unparalled beauty!
Framed by majestic pine trees
Stately and proud

Each time seen is like the first time
Gazing upon this wonder of nature
And the nights!
Onyx sky flecked with uncountable opalescent stars
Magnificent ending of perfect days

I inhale all the scents again and again
Longing to capture it all
Closing my eyes
my mind the camera
An everlasting snapshot to relive this treasure.
