WHEN THE WILD WIND BLOWS

a poem by Gail P. Kay, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

When the wild wind blows
And the birds all flee,
And the storm clouds roil majestically,
When lightning cracks
And thunder rolls
Across the sky so angrily,
I am torn between awe
At the power and majesty
Of God’s creation
And the deeper, secret fear
Of my helplessness!
When the wild wind blows
And nature roars relentlessly
Man comes face to face
With his mortality.
