Summer

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

Time for laughing
kisses and hugs
picnics, ants, and bugs.
volley ball at the park
catching lighting bugs
way after dark
swimming and hiking
running and biking
fun to the liking

Summers climax
forth of July
Ah, look
toward the sky
fireworks,
lightning sprockets,
sparklers, and bottle rockets

Fun for all
stay in line
swimming pool
even cannon ball
love will shine
avoid the heat
kids keep out of the street
there's new friends to make
smiles to exchange
maybe some day again
we'll sweetly greet
