a poem by Drsudarsan Damodar Prasad, India - poetry writer, author, poet

If rain-drops were tears-
Shed by fairies,
Then heaven is-
No more heaven –
Sad fairies are more common
Than sad cypress ,
What a thought!

Then mother earth ;
She will shiver and shudder
As the rains pound her,
The succulent fruits,
Of her green faced children,
Will turn blood-red
Crying foul!

The whispering winds tell ,
T hat all is not well,
In heaven and earth,
Fairies and humans,
Both shed tears,
So does the mother of all,
Divine and human-
Fairies and earthlings!
