THE ZUMA ROCK

a poem by Oredola Olamilekan Ibrahim, Nigeria

THE ZUMA ROCK
Your illume honor,that gracing stand
Conking yonder to the phoebus'cart
In your operant powers which is of life
In my fantasy ranking there high
In halcyon hale you stood unmoved
Keeping a watch on our central state.

Your seeing portrait behind the man
Had really spell out your values more
For gigantic, solitary have you stand
To eye the forest in a CITY dance
seeing from afar,like the producer.

You ROCK, your sphinx statue, the Olympus
To home the gods, our leading psyche
YOUR enigmatic form had really shone
Our unity, our culture a leading one.

Deep now in my heart, your will echoes
Of your kingly state for I to be
And conks yonder for my lustrous wreath.

Now I've mount your top to see the world
To be filled in your honor as others do.

...You're the rock, the great rock on which we stand.(2/6/09)
