A Pitchers Spin

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

Compete,
compete,
Stride to the beat,
Of the crowd
Ever so loud.

Run,
Run,
He did his best,
Strong will,
Throw,
Throw,
Again and again.

Strikes, on the curve,
Debate, decision,
Catcher tells it all.

Fun,
Fun,
Fun for all,
We all chant in time,
Winning is no crime,
For fans to observe.

Did you see it,
Did you see it spin,
Wow what a throw and curve,
Outs three
Weeeeeeee,
Up again,
Pitcher gives an evil grin,
Score to take a twist.

Smack,
Smack,
Out of the park
We won,
We won,
Kiss from his girl,
Head in a whirl,
On such a hot day,
To beat the best,
Little rest
For the best.
