Gator Boy

a poem by Leslie M. Owens, USA

Gator boy, Gator boy swimming in the swamp
Swinging from the cypress trees, Oh! How you romp
Sunning with the turtles, eating with the gators
Sneaking into shacks at night stealing sweet potaters
Your momma left you all alone to be a tasty snack
But when the gators tried to eat you, you gave them such a whack
Now you live a happy life running through the swamp
Singing in the cypress trees, Oh! How you romp
