Autumn....Just Around The Bend

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

As I sit here, sky's clear
In my green lawn chair
The silence is in the air
The feeling of such despair
Avoiding now suns glair
Summer is near end
Autumn waiting around the bend

Winds slowly blow
Warm essence of it's solumn flow
Leaves still intact
Soon nature to react
Leaves still green and strong
But it won't be long
They'll be all about us falling
All about us winds blowing

As I sit here
deep within musters a sudden fear
Sitting in my green lawn chair
Sweating as it runs
Heat from the hot summer sun
Short times for outside fun
Events and all on the run

As I close my eyes
Future's of autumns I spys
Just around the next bend
Gods love descends
Casting the leaves of bright colors
Colors of seasons
Compare to no other
He paint's the scenery
No longer all greenery
As he hides too
Hiding are the cool autumn winds
Just around the corners
Just around the bend
