FACEBOOK FRENZY

a poem by Jacinta Ramayah, Malaysia - poetry writer, author, poet

Caught my daughter up at three a.m.
Her eyes fixed on the computer,
"What's this? Face-lift?" I joked,
“Facebook, ma! A place of sharing wonder.”

"What about your blog?” I asked.
"And aren't you starting one for me?”
“This is more interesting,” she replied.
“Come share this joyful activity.”

I read where she had written about
her brother wanting a new motorbike,
And the comments she received -
"Be strong. Tell him to take a hike."

“You can’t reveal secrets about family.
It's insane what you have done.”
“What do you think you are doing, ma,
sending poems to the net about your son!”

(Can someone out there suggest a suitable repartee?)
