Love-----You vs Me

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

You,
just a man,
stood in my dream,
traveled through,
as water ususally flows down stream.

You,
a man,
from so long ago,
did you ever care,
I once loved you so.

You,
a man,
not superman,
paid for a crime,
a crime of loving me,
why did set me free.

You,
my love,
once touched my heart and soul,
your love hidden never out of control,
like the billy goat and the troll.

Me,
a woman,
passionate for life,
craved companionship,
total commitment,
loving compassion,
A total life of strife.

You,
a mortal too,
just a man,
I neglected to see,
All in all,
Maybe you did love

Linda Terrell

A poem of a couple surviving life's strife.
Love through the years.
Love for one another through the years with hardened hearts.
