Paradigms

a poem by Sheela Chalapathi ramananda, India

In the paradigm of Knowledge
Be a traveller seeking more and more.
When you think you have reached the edge
You are pleasantly surprised to have opened a door.

In the vast, stretching Ocean of Life
Be a sailor fighting bravely the current.
When you think you have put an end to life's strife
Your boat is mercilessly caught in a torrent.

In the formidable,lofty mountain peak
Be a mendicant in search of salvation.
When you think you have got what you seek
You will realize that desires do not give you liberation.
