TO MY CHILDREN

a poem by Nancy Ellen Crossland, USA - poetry writer, author, poet

Your hand once so small
I enclosed within my own;
Soft, chubby fingers
On my face
They would roam,

Upon my nose
My lips
My eyes;
Every second to you
Was a world of surprise,

Giggles and smiles
Sad faces and tears
Where have they gone
Those many years?

Yet forever lingers
Remaining in my heart;
My treasure, my children
My love never to depart
