MY LEADERSHIP SONNET

a poem by Oredola Olamilekan Ibrahim, Nigeria

MY LEADERSHIP SONNET
Okey-dokey,
To this everestic point my feet has placed Though pointing to; well over the clan of stars
This wearing coronet; my claim to fame
In the grapple came the clarion call 5
By the mullah, who deem it fit, away, the claptrap
The great wheelic roll, a record breaks
The detratic eyes want the knot, like namesake
But like him I shall count the stars
Oh! Lord of Solomon. Lord of David 10
Will you see me thru the nadir of this path
Thru the stentorian grandiloquent speech
To the earlobes all to hear, be ruled1
Thru this claustrophobic place, lord your cover seek
