TO EACH HIS OWN

a poem by Jacinta Ramayah, Malaysia - poetry writer, author, poet

It’s sizzling hot,
In the parking lot,
The sun beats down,
With a burning frown,
Husbands sit bored,
As women get floored, gored, clawed,
For grand sales are on,
Clothes are going, going .. gone.

It’s blissfully cool,
By the swimming pool,
With a hat on the head,
Sitting under a shade,
As lotion is rubbed in,
On skin that’s thick, lean, thin,
Chocolaty brown,
Ice-cream is going, going .. down.
