THE SPRING TREE

a poem by Sheela Chalapathi ramananda, India

I am bare and barren now
But wait till spring comes on tow
To touch me with his magic wand
And bind me with his loving band.

Fresh green sprouts designed by Nature
Splash on my body to give me a stature,
Interspersed with fragrant, beautiful flowers
My green leafy cloth gives joy, hope and life
To this world filled with strife
