a poem by Nancy Ellen Crossland, USA

Faded away the shadows of night
Gently awakened the fingertips of sunlight
Forms undistinguishable cause imagination to peak
Cerise and gold of sunrise's glory seek
Fall softly in streaks upon your cheek
Creatures of the night now flee
Dreaming in the cradle of daylight's breeze
Two worlds it seems exist as one
Nocturnal inhabitants
Seekers thriving in the sun
Yet they fold and blend
Symphony of sounds that play
Overture of day gives way
To the mysteries of nature's finale.
