African Dream Goes Sour

a poem by William Willis, Scotland

Baffana,Baffana your dream is now gone.
Vuvazelas,Table Mountain and African song.
Strategy and tactics made the tournament so dross.
Thoes coaches and managers, they made me so cross.

Greatest Show on Earth, please do me a favour.
Its goals that we need and excitement to savour.
So Ronaldo,Ribery,Rooney and Co.
Please pick up yer boots and home you must go.

I think i am losing my love for the game.
Tiredness, new ball or is it money to blame
Iniesta and Xavi had me in a daze.
De Jong and Van Bommel ran around like the Krays !

Dodgy decisions and replays galore.
We have Howard Webb there,to SETTLE THE SCORE !
Players rolling around, many "acting the goat."
I had more excitement gein the kitchen a coat.

So where are our Cruffs,Maradonas and Peles ?
These new players are crap want to throw out ma tellys.
Azzurii,The Frenchies and the Boys from Brazil
And Terry and England....laughed so hard i was ill !

Bookies lines and wallcharts now lie in the gutter
Hope you bet Spain, when you had a wee flutter.
So Lineker and Shearer,i must say " I"m Sorry "
Thank goodness its back to Ken Barlow and Corrie !!!!!!!
