Hopes And Dreams

a poem by Keith Lumbard, UK

My perfected smile is all you see,
Not my bottom lip here quiver,
You may observe a verve in me,
Beneath my skin with dread, I shiver,
You might see wisdom, in these eyes,
Therefore not my foolishness unwise,
Surmise you may, my words adept,
Yet knowledge finds my words inept,
Of glee perceive, I am abundant,
Alas with tears became redundant,
Judge me rich with crowds of friends,
But impoverished my circle lends,
Desperate though my future seems,
In me remains my hopes and dreams.
