The Tug boat

a poem by Charles Fisher, UK

Ride high on the high tide
The tug boat eases through the smooth
Clyde water's
The surf from the Tug boat pushes outward
forming furrows of water ways where
the ducks sway in the moving furrows against
their wishes

The surf pushes against the shoreline
then vanishes without a trace

More surf is churned by the Tugboat's action
reaction is that the furrows of water seem to race
one another towards the shoreline
where the race it seems to be incomplete

Complete its voyage home
the Tug boat berthed and recall its passage
and listen to the home water's response
