a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

The people look down and laugh out at me
But I have a truth that has set me free

They hold their heads high, the pride they feel
But one day soon they will bow and kneel

Their language and grammar is second to non
Yet love do they lack and weak they become

Their precious belongings mean nothing at all
For at the day of judgement, they will suffer the fall

Our Father in heaven does love us so dearly
His son did he send, with a message so clearly

Repent from your sins and trust in the Lord
The battle is won and the freedom is yours

His love is amazing, his power so true
His patience unending, all this given to you

The facts have been given, the choice is now yours
His love remains always but short may be the hours

The Lord will return as a thief in the night,
Unknown is the time, the place or the sights.

So the challenge is here, will he know your name?
Will it be heaven or hell, this isn’t a game.

The foot of the Cross
Walking with God
Faith is like a cup of tea
