"UNTIL SUCH TIME YOU NEED ME THERE".

a poem by Keith Lumbard, UK

Where tactile shadows cast and drape...
incognito there they shape...
where willows weep cascading leaf..
convolute to hide their grief,

“In your dreams I wake and sleep...
with all my love for you I keep”.

Where mockingbirds of grey and white...
vacillate in fancy flight....
on spanking breeze they hold their wing...
with playful tune are mimicking,

“Although I've waved my hand goodbye...
my spirit lives and will not die”,

Where blossoms sip condensing dew...
there on a broken morning new...
when nature cares to ease its hold...
revealing beauty there untold,

“In ever changing skies of blue...
from there I'm watching over you",

Where the Sun betrays a loyal moon...
and clouds abate and rainbows loom...
where urging breeze disperse the mist...
to dry the earth the rain has kissed,

“Should labyrinth beset your day...
my whispered sway will set your way”,

Where soothing currents smooth the stone...
and ripples sink to depths unknown...
where veins of thirsty water share...
its conjuration with you there,

“In passage over sea or land...
I'll always be, to hold your hand”,

When darkness steals the day times light...
the moon reclaims its place by right...
before the stars, an audience...
upon a canvas of suspense,

“I am your rock, your cross to bear...
until such time you need me there”.
