MY OLD ROCKING CHAIR

a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

MY OLD ROCKING CHAIR
Six lucky numbers
Changed our way of life
We are now millionaires
Me and my Wife
Relatives travelled
From near
And far
Some came by bus
Others by car
I started to panic
I was anxious with fear
There were inlaws
I had never seen
For many a year
But there was no need to worry
As I rubbed my eyes with despair
For I had fallen asleep
I n my old
Rocking chair
