Hurt

a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

The anger boils my blood

the tears about to flood

bottled up for so long

the hurt and pain i cant prolong

the nagging thoughts, the hurtful words

the effect runs deep within my viens

The time has come to stop this pain

nasty comments, only a joke

the hurt it causes makes me choke

the tears are streaming from bloodshot eyes

my heart pulled apart I ask myself why

A silly giggle, a smarmy smile

I blocked it out for a little while

but flooding out the emotions come

every part of my body numb

No more struggling can i face

I hide myself in pure disgrace
.

Anywhere at all?
Times of Struggle
The commander
