HOT FLUSHES

a poem by Jacinta Ramayah, Malaysia - poetry writer, author, poet

Hot flushes hit me morn, noon and night
Annoying predicament giving no respite
36 degrees; the temperature out there in the sun
Waves of heat raging within my body just isn’t fun
It’s fever within bones trying to get free
Imprisoned beneath skin with dexterity
The heat permeates the body for a minute or two
A sweaty drench and you know you’ve got through
Cool breeze drifts by and eases the pain
Discomfort passes and you’re right as rain
Women in their fifties experiencing this condition
I take my hat off to you for enduring such a situation!
