a poem by Charles Fisher, UK

suspended in the air
the rain drops are
defy the laws of gravity
no gravitation with the ground
no more attractive force

Soil of life turned into dust bowls
The earth doesn't feel the rain
Hunger and thirst a weapon
That destroyed civilisation
A wildness of a desert jungle
The once earth great cities are now
The strong and the rich and powerful
Their power over the earth is gone
Hide and crawl on the desert jungle floor
Avoiding trap doors in the ground
Without any sound the traps door open
Drag the strong and the rich and powerful
Into holes where a new evolved species
of the poor and weak people
That have changed into hunters
Hunt the Powerful decision makers
