swim at night

a poem by Charles Fisher, UK

Going to take a drive
Down the water's edge
Going take a swim
Swim in the darkness
Envelope me, the darkness does. I
swim swim swim,
for a long long time
Kind the night water is to me
Confine my thoughts
In the fineness of the river's mind
Hardly a splash make I
Swim in the river's warmth
Float on my back
Relaxed the pitch black water is
Drift I;. Let the river take me
Take me any where it wants too
