The foot of the Cross

a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

The foot of the cross is where i stand
when its all to hard, when i need a hand
My Lord and Saviour, stands hand stretched out
He comforts me when i cry out

The foot of the cross, a sad place in time
but a place of hope and security thats mine
The peace he gives, his love it covers
holding me in his arms as his lover

At the foot of the cross, were I meet my father
My fears and hopes here do I gather
To Jesus I give them, the worries and fears
The people who have hurt me over the years.

So as I stand at the foot of the cross
I do not cry for my saviours loss
For I know hes gloriously risen on high
and so my trust and life in him lies.

Hurt sequel.....Freedom
Walking with God
CONVICTION
