In Memory...Of a dear cousin ( and those lost to cancer)

a poem by Nishu Mathur, India

It's been a while since you left us and went away,
But there has never ever been an instant or a day,
When we don't think of you,
Or of all that you went through.

For years though valiantly you fought,
The battle somehow, somewhere we lost.
And though Victory was not ours to see
To us a hero you'll always be.
Alive in our hearts and memory,
Away from life's agony.
Maybe it is better that you are free,
Maybe happier there than here you could ever be.

And for those of us who are left behind,
Hope and solace we strive to find.
As we still struggle to understand..
Praying that God now does hold your hand.
