The sad pianist

a poem by Charles Fisher, UK

The piano keys
With her nimble fingers
With a sensitive touch
Her fingers smoothly touch
The surface of the piano keys
She immerse the piano
In the music of sadness
As she play a sad melody
Of forbidden love
Love so torn
That it struck a musical chord
With her heart
The tears moist in the pianist eyes
As she perform with soft musical piano notes
Softer Softer these piano notes became
If the piano its self seem to weep
In sympathy with the pianist weepy eyes
Peoples eyes in the theatre begin to cry
In hearing the gentleness
Of the sad pianist piece
