a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

I could play bingo every day
And theres no other game Id rather play
And when I walk through the Gala doors
I am greeted by my friends
With a welcome applause
And with our bingo cards
We are ready to begin
And I am feeling the urge
For a full house win
The first house has gone
And Ive had some near misses
But I am sure in the second
I will get all my wishes
I feel like a tennis player
Winning their serve
Because one last call
And the game is mine
Cos all I need is 89
I am sitting quietly
Until some one shouts on number 90
My luck was in
It was a false call
And the next number out was
MY lucky ball
