FLU

a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

I have had the flu jab
But Ive still caught the flu
Is it possible
I havent a clue
Prevention is written
All over the place
So I had my jab just in case
My eyes are watery
And I am sneezing all day
And my nose is bunged up
So what can you say
Is there anyone else
Who has had the jab
And after three weeks
Soft tissues you grab
And with a runny nose
Coughing and sneezing
Then it seems to me
There is no pleasing
But every year I submit to the jab
And hoping I am not isolated
And confined to Rehab
