The Little Honeybee!

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

"Mmmmmmmeee! Apples and pears I see," Said the little honeybee.
"Plump and lucious, and just for me!" And around and around he flew. "Buzz-idy-buzz-buzz. Mmmmmmmmeee!" He sings merrily.

Ohuuuee! Flowers, of all colors I see." Said the little honeybee.
"Red, yellow, and blue, And free." And around and around he flew. "Buzz-idy-buzz-buzz. Ohuuuee!" He sings merrily.

"Ohhhhh gee! Blossoms and petals I see," Said the little honeybee.
"Each waiting patiently just for me." And around and around he flew. "Buzz-idy-buzz-buzz. Ohhhh gee!" He sings merrily.

"Yum-idy-yum-yumy, honeysucle, nectar I see," Says the little honey bee.
I'm guessing, that bush grew them just for me." And around and around he flew. "Buzz-idy-buzz-buzz. Yum-idy-yum-yumy! He sings merrily.

Soon the little honeybee tires of buzzing all about, evening came and the clouds came out. His little pollen covered wings ached so of his long day of fun.

"Yawn-eeee! I'm ever so sleepy." Says the little honey bee."
Just as he nestled within the tree. Over and over he climbed the bees galore, And then soon we heard him snore.
"Buzz-idy-buzz-buzz! Buzz-e-e-e-e-e-e! Buz-e-e-e-e-e-e!" Snores the tired little honeybee, ever so wearily.

I wrote this for my little grandaughter who has been sick today, but she went to bed before I could read it to her. Maybe tomorrow.
