Smiley

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

The gallery of existence
waits on another day
a smiling surfer
riding waves
on shrinking planet far away,
moon curious in denial
sweeps the nothing from its eyes
with a guarded promise
light rays exercising the moment
parallels of animation,
duality wanders
the forest of colour,
simplicity eats at a picnic blanket,
everything will wake
in having its say.

Question understands the
impossibilities,
answers spawn
at the birth of emotion
lost of its brawn
survival guides ink upon the page
someone dreams
of centre-stage,
a million gods
a single surfer
never knowing words intent,
stars
at the tail of the swathe
in her eyes
I bathe
as eternity has.
