The Pyramid Of Gizza

a poem by Joseph Chukwudiegwu Osita, Nigeria

I have housed many kings
And received their own lashes of sun
I preserve their body and golden belongings
For I cover them from everyone
I have lived in time of the son of God
Who came and dwelt with the Jews
His sermons poked many ears of rod
And they had him pay the dues
I have witnessed many wars,
An ignorance and foolishness of man
For at last no peace assures
And so it goes in a cycle plan
I witnessed the rise and fall of Caesar
For I am the pyramid of Gizza
