a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Time waits for no one
Whether you laugh
Cry or sing
You might be a Princess
A Queen or a King
But time waits for no one
Not even for the golden eagle
Who soars high
On majestic wing
And the stars in the sky
Will come out every night
And the sun will peep out
At the first morning light
And nature in her glory
Will forever stay young
And stories
Will be told
And songs will be sung
But time waits for no one
It revolves through the years
Leaving in its path
Moments of happiness
And perhaps a few tears
