a poem by Joseph Chukwudiegwu Osita, Nigeria

When a burst of colors: magenta, glowing red and orange lie
Beneath the western hip of an evening sky.
Casting painter's palette upon the cool earth crust;
Reflecting in the sea, an orb of golden dust.
Inspiring sonorous songbirds as they peal their operas
Beneath soft dark shades of praying poplars
Where Eden rebirth is witnessed under the trees.
As color-stained flowers jubilate in bliss,
Playing is humming magnificat of the gentle breeze.
When every creature is lulled and stands at ease
Then is rapture time for a falling leaf,
Drifting and dancing in the air with belief.
Heavenly beauties in the woodland lie
When colors of sunset are splashed across the sky.
