Praise be to the king

a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Though I fall down and struggle
I choose to worship and adore
My saviour and my lover, to him open the door

My praises I cry out because I know he never leaves
Though the devil tries his hardest, my heart he can't deceive
Firmly grounded in God's love, his mercy covers me
Even when it's hard I know he will set me free

When fear fills my heart I turn to my loving saviour
His mighty roar prevails as we praise through our behaviour
I choose to praise him now; through him I may be stronger
These praises I cry out that I may suffer alone no longer.

The kingdom of God advances as our praises rise to him
He is our protector, our shield and almighty king.
Throughout my trials I choose God's power and peace
Emmanuel, God with us, covered by his fleece.

hopes, thoughts and fears
Walking with God
Love letter to God
