a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Dreaming about Christmas
Is what most children do
And hoping
That Santa Claus
Will make all dreams
Come true
They are hoping that he has stepped
Down from his slay
And delivered their presents
To enjoy Christmas Day
They know he has travelled
From the North Pole
Delivering thousands of presents
Which is no easy role
How does he do it
Most children ask
Its beyond comprehension
And a difficult task
We don't know how he does it
Replies their Mum and Dad
But for one day
In the year
He tries to make everyone glad
