a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Snowflakes fluttering down
From a misty sky
We only ever see them
When Winter's passing by
Roads,lanes,and fields
Are blanketed in white
And every space is captured
While birds have all took flight
And children sledging
Down a hill
As tourists ski
Down a dangerous slope
And traffic eventually
Grinding to a halt
Whilst the elderly try to cope
And out doors it's dark
And bleak
With January drawing ever near
Making way for another
New Year
