WELL HERE'S ANOTHER FINE MESS YOU'VE GOTTEN ME INTO

a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

I saw Susan's challenge
And thought to myself
I'll try and do my best
So with pen in hand
I had it planned
To take on this mighty quest
All through the night
I wracked my brains
But nothing came out right
So the very next day
Needless to say
I was tired and could hardly see
I burnt my toast
Tripped over the cat
And spilt my cup of tea
Give up my thought's kept whispering
There's always another day
So in conclusion I reluctantly did
But before crawling back to my bed
I heard the ticking of the clock
And my excuse to you dear Sue
I've developed what you call, The Writer's Block

WELL HERE'S ANOTHER FINE MESS YOU'VE GOTTEN ME INTO
SUSAN'S CHALLENGE
