THE SONG'S HAVE ALL BEEN SUNG

a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Gone are the days
When we were free
We shared a life together
You and me
The world was our oyster
And we had it made
But now they are gone
I'm afraid
Time has passed us by
And we are not so young
Our heart's are in the right place
But the song's have all been sung
The skies which were blue
Have now turned to grey
But the memories we shared
Will never fade away
But gone are the days
When we were fancy free
Together we shared a life
You and me
And the world was our oyster
And we had it made
But now they are gone
I'm afraid
