a poem by Edwin Keith Jepson, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

I've travelled to many places
And seen many different faces,
And I'm glad to say,
Along the way,
The good did outweigh the bad,
But some special friends I know,
Disappeared, like particles of snow,
And fond memories return, and that's sad,
I never dreamt one day,
The years would drift away,
And leave an empty space for me,
But life goes on, and on,
And though some friends are gone,
I feel much wiser, and carefree,
You can't live forever in the past,
Even though your memories last,
Like golden treasures, they will always be,
And when the night,
Brings forth the stars,
Lighting a path to the planet Mars
I know one day
They will also light, the path for me ,
